How to Assemble a Fingerboard:

Materials Needed

  • Fingerboard Deck
  • Grip Tape
  • Trucks (2)
  • Wheels (4)
  • Screws and Locknuts (included with trucks)
  • Fingerboard Tool or Small Screwdriver

Step 1: Prepare the Trucks

  1. If the holes in the baseplates of your trucks do not come pre-threaded: run a screw through each hole from the underside of the baseplate as straight as possible to create threads. Be sure to tighten slowly to avoid stripping.
  2. Attach the wheels to the trucks using the small locknuts.
  3. Use a fingerboard tool to tighten them so the wheels spin freely but are secure.

Step 2: Install the Trucks on the Deck

  1. Line up the trucks with the mounting holes on the underside of the deck.
  2. Insert the screws from the top of the deck through the holes into the trucks.
  3. Use a tool to tighten the screws. Ensure all screws are flush with the deck top and evenly tightened.

Step 3: Grip the Deck

  1. Peel the adhesive backing off of the grip.
  2. Align the grip from above making sure it's centered on the deck.
  3. Carefully stick the grip down to the deck ensuring there are no air bubbles.
  4. Use a small file, to file the grip in a downward motion.
  5. File all around the edge of the deck. This will make a clean cut
  6. Use packing tape (or any household tape) to remove any excess grip/glue that may be left behind.

Step 4: Final Check

  1. Ensure the trucks are secure and the wheels roll smoothly.
  2. Adjust the truck tightness by tightening or loosening the kingpin locknut for your preferred feel.
  3. NOW TIME TO SHRED!

City Council meetings are one of the most important ways we can show community support for the Edwardsville Skatepark Project. A strong turnout proves that local residents care and want to see this become a reality.
We have a petition with over 1,000 local signatures, but unfortunately that’s not enough. We now have to take action by emailing or calling city council members, as well as attending city meetings regularly.
Edwardsville deserves a space that caters to its diverse population's interests - including those who love skateboarding. We urge local authorities to consider this proposal seriously for the betterment of our town's recreational offerings.
